Weekly Group Leader Resources: https://www.crestview.church/weekly-tools

Components Of A Great Group

Prayer - An important component of all our groups is prayer. The timing and how you do it is left up to you. We ask you build others up with encouragement, however please do not ask someone to pray that may not be ready for corporate prayer.

Biblical Interaction - We encourage you to use sermon notes and questions. However, for Sunday Groups and Crestview Classes you might use RightNow Media, Lifeway materials and other resources of your choice to bring Biblical principles into the group. Please confirm your materials all agree with our What We Believe statement as well as our Core Values. Please contact the Groups Pastor if you have any questions.

Community - Doing life together is a key component of forming significant relationships. Often, community is a key component of spiritual growth.

Share Accurate Information - Accurate info is more valuable than ever. Use this website, our Crestview Update email, and group leader communications to help everyone engage with Crestview.

Communicate back to us - Attendance, prayer requests, resources used, needs etc…We want to help!!

Leaders’ Agreement

While each of our Life Groups, Sunday Classes, or Crestview Classes may have different styles, it’s important all our leaders and substitutes understand and support the Biblical principles found in our Group Leader Agreement found below.

The Groups Ministry focus is spiritual growth and community.

Our leader’s guide is designed for training Life Group Leaders, however all group leaders should integrate the principles shared as part of their groups at Crestview.

Group Agreement

At Crestview, a group is people that grow spiritually through significant relationships. We ask all Life Group participants to sign an agreement within the first three weeks of each session to indicate their active engagement with their group.

A key in forming those significant relationships and growing spiritually is to focus on our Core Values. We believe this is a natural process and supports the biblical principle found in Hebrews 10:24-25 as well as our purpose of “helping others experience life change through Jesus Christ”.

A typical group meeting will involve these values to encourage spiritual growth through significant relationships.

Churchteams is Crestview’s Database partner. It can be a valuable tool to keep contact with your group and how your group members are engaed in our group and the church.

Group Consistency Report

You will recieve the group consistency report monthly on the 23rd. This report is in no way a “gotcha” about attendance but we hope it will provide you as a group leader valuable information about your group. Please see the link here for some helpful hints on how this tool can help you and your group. If you would like to change the parameters of your groups report, please call or email the church office.

Tips for Online Groups with Zoom

Be Smart About Security Online

Whenever possible, put a password on your meeting and follow any other recommendations the platform you’re using suggests. Here are some of the recommendations if you’re using Zoom.

  • Pro: Only hosts are required to have a Zoom account. There is a phone-in option.

  • Con: Have to download the Zoom application to your phone or computer. There is a 40 minute limit on the free version.

What is the best way to control sound during Zoom meetings?

We recommend you perform a practice run or two prior to holding your first meeting. Participants and Hosts/Leaders should check volume settings and ensure they are adjusted toward the high end. It is helpful if the participants and hosts use wireless earbuds, headsets with a microphone built in, or wired headsets that came with your phone or device that contain a microphone.

Do I have to use Zoom? What about hackers or Zoom-bombing?

We recommend Zoom but you can use the platform that works best for you and your group. We recommend Zoom as it is an industry-leading choice that many churches use due to its ease of use and ability to use on many devices. It also features call-in options. All platforms are subject to intrusion and Zoom has taken steps to control them. Reach out to us at the office for additional questions.
