Part 5: Acts of Service
THE 5 LOVE LANGUAGES: TRANSLATING LOVE - PART 5
“We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Thessalonians 1:3 (NIV)
Following Jesus means serving others.
“Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.”
Ephesians 5:21 (NIV)
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
Romans 12:10 (NIV)
Serving others means putting their needs above my own.
“Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In His grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well.”
Romans 12:4-6 (NLT)
You are gifted to serve others.
4 ways to love somebody whose Love Language is Acts of Service:
1. SHOW, DON’T TELL.
2. IDENTIFY AND DO THEIR FAVORITE ACTS OF SERVICE.
3. GIVE EACH EFFORT 100%.
“And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”
Colossians 3:17 (NLT)
4. DON’T DROP THE BALL.
“We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too. Don’t you remember, dear brothers and sisters, how hard we worked among you? Night and day we toiled to earn a living so that we would not be a burden to any of you as we preached God’s Good News to you.”
1 Thessalonians 2:8-9 (NLT)
