Part 1: Bible
THE CORE 5 – PART 1
HOW TO HAVE A BIBLICAL MINDSET
Biblical Mindset = Letting the Bible guide my thinking and actions.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)
“There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.”
Proverbs 14:12 (NIV)
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
Romans 12:2 (NLT)
1. IS A BIBLICAL MINDSET MY PRIORITY?
“My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.”
Proverbs 2:1-5 (NIV)
Make sure to get God’s Word in my heart.
2. ARE YOU CONNECTED TO OTHER CHRISTIANS?
“Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom He gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.”
Colossians 3:16 (NLT)
Make sure you have people in your life that give you checks and balances, and help you grow toward God. (Next Step #1)
3. ARE YOU OBEYING WHAT YOU ALREADY KNOW?
“Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”
John 13:17 (NIV)
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
Psalm 119:105 (NIV)
Without the Bible, we don’t go through life doing what God would have us do – we go through life doing what we think is best.
“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”
Isaiah 43:19 (NLT) (Next Steps #2,3,4)
