Part 1: How Big Is Your God?

PSALMS - PART 1

Psalms teach us: We can open our hearts to God.

PSALM 19

1.  A CREATION ALWAYS REVEALS SOMETHING ABOUT ITS CREATOR.

The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display His craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make Him known.”

Psalm 19:1-2 (NLT)

“When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers— the moon and the stars you set in place—what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?”

Psalm 8:3-4 (NLT)

2.  THE GOD THIS BIG HAS A WORD THAT IS:

The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.”

Psalm 19:7-8 (NLT)

“They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.”

Psalm 19:11 (NLT)

  • Perfect.

  • Trustworthy.

  • Right.

“(To Job) Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words? Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them. ‘Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much.’”

Job 38:2-4 (NLT)

3.  THE GOD THIS BIG IS:

“How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to You, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”                                                            Psalm 19:12-14 (NLT)

  • Only hindered by our sin.
