ROMANS 12: RELATIONSHIPS MATTER
PART 5
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Romans 12:10 (NIV)
HONOR ONE ANOTHER:
FOR THEIR GIFTS FROM GOD.
“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” Romans 12:6-8 (NIV)
When we honor people for God’s gifts in their lives, we honor God as the gift-giver.
2. WITH YOUR GIFTS FROM GOD.
God has given you something that the body of Christ needs.
“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” Romans 12:4-5 (NIV)
3. WITH LOYALTY AND LOVE.
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Romans 12:10 (NIV)
The world can see Jesus by how we love each other.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”
John 13:34-35 (NIV)
