Part 7: Overwhelmed

PSALMS - PART 7

PSALM 61 and 62

1.   WHEN YOUR HEART IS OVERWHELMED WHERE DOES IT LEAD YOU?

“From the ends of the earth, I cry to You for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety, for You are my safe refuge, a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me.”

Psalm 61:2-3 (NLT)

2.   WHAT’S YOUR ROCK?

I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.”

Psalm 62:1-2 (NLT)

“Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life.”

Psalm 62:10 (NLT)

Anyone who listens to My teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.”

Matthew 7:24-25 (NLT)

Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.”

Psalm 62:5-6 (NLT)

  • We are all building a life.  We have to decide where we want to build.

Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me.”

John 14:1 (ESV)

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

John 14:27 (NLT)

  • You can accept the gift that Jesus offers.
