Part 2: Joy
Refresh: what the world needs now
PART 2
“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!” Philippians 4:4 (NLT)
We produce what we are filled with.
“No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” Luke 6:43-45 (NIV)
Our flesh works with refills; the Holy Spirit produces with overflow.
“Jesus answered, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.’” John 4:13-14 (NIV)
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 (NIV)
Joy abounds when we remain with the Lord.
“Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in Him! Fear the Lord, you His godly people, for those who fear Him will have all they need. Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.” Psalm 34:8-10 (NLT)
“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!” Philippians 4:4 (NLT)
