I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 (NIV)

  • Why is being connected so important?

1. BEING CONNECTED PRODUCES FRUIT.

“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 (NLT)

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)

2. BEING DISCONNECTED PRODUCES NOTHING.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 (ESV)

I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.”  John 15:1 (ESV)

How do we stay connected to Jesus?

  • Do what Jesus says.

“As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Now remain in My love. If you keep My commands, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commands and remain in His love.” John 15:9-10 (NIV)

  • Love like Jesus loves.

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12 (NIV)

  • I feel close to God when I _____________.
