PART - 3

One out of every two people today are wrestling with mental and emotional health issues.

Kaiser Foundation

“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.”

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NLT)

  1. 40 million adults are affected by anxiety disorders each year.(on screen only)

  2. One in 10 children are found to have anxiety or depression each year. (on screen only)

  • How are you doing and what do you need physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually?

  • Worry is something that is specific. Anxiety is vague.

1. WORRY IS YOU TALKING TO YOURSELF ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS.

  • Lie: If I worry today, I’ll have peace tomorrow.

“Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”

Matthew 6:27 (NIV)

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.’”

Philippians 4:8 (NLT)

“Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.”

Philippians 4:9 (NLT)

2. ALLOW ANXIETY TO DRIVE YOU CLOSER INTO GOD’S PRESENCE.

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

1 Peter 5:7-8 (NIV)

“Why am I so discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise Him again--my Savior and my God!”

Psalm 42:5 (NLT)
