PSALMS OF SUMMER
PART 5
Psalm 126:1-6, Psalm 39:12-13
1. EXPECT TEARS TO COME INTO YOUR LIFE.
“When the Lord brought back His exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream! We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, ‘What amazing things the Lord has done for them.’ Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy!” Psalm 126:1-3 (NLT)
“Restore our fortunes, Lord, as streams renew the desert.” Psalm 126:4 (NLT)
2. INVEST YOUR TEARS.
“Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.” Psalm 126:5-6 (NLT)
“...Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” Psalm 30:5b (NLT)
“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” 2 Corinthians 4:17 (NIV)
3. PRAY YOUR SORROWS.
Realize God in His grace understands.
“Hear my prayer, O Lord! Listen to my cries for help! Don’t ignore my tears. For I am Your guest—a traveler passing through, as my ancestors were before me. Leave me alone so I can smile again before I am gone and exist no more.” Psalm 39:12-13 (NLT)
Pray remembering the cross.
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18 (NIV)
True prayer pursued far enough will become praise.
“Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.” Psalm 126:6 (NIV)
