Part 8: Praying Your Guilt
PSALMS OF SUMMER
PART 8
Psalm 130:1-8
1. GUILT IS LIKE QUICKSAND.
“From the depths of despair, O Lord, I call for Your help.” Psalm 130:1 (NLT)
“Lord, hear my voice. Let Your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.” Psalm 130:2 (NIV)
The opposite of guilt = innocence.
The opposite of shame = glory/worth.
2. GOD’S PLAN IS LIKE A LIFELINE.
You need a standard.
“If You, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?” Psalm 130:3 (NIV)
“I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.” 1 Corinthians 4:3-4 (NIV)
You need a new Redeemer.
“O Israel, hope in the Lord; for with the Lord there is unfailing love. His redemption overflows. He Himself will redeem Israel from every kind of sin.” Psalm 130:7-8 (NLT)
“I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.” Psalm 130:5-6 (NIV)
