Part 3: The Habit That Transforms It All

ANCHOR HABITS

PART - 3

  • Small spiritual steps really do make a BIG DIFFERENCE in our lives.

“But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.”

Daniel 6:10 (NLT)

1. DEVELOPING AN ANCHOR HABIT

  • Make it clear.

౼ Time and location

“Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders.”

Deuteronomy 6:7-8 (NLT)

  • Make it simple.

“...Keep yourself in training for a godly life.”

1 Timothy 4:7b (GN)

  • Make it known.

“Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.”

Proverbs 13:20 (NLT)

2. THE ANCHOR HABIT THAT WILL IMPACT EVERY OTHER AREA OF YOUR LIFE IS ENGAGING DAILY IN GOD’S WORD.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

Psalm 119:105 (NIV)

  • It helps you make wise decisions.

  • It gives you strength when you are stressed.

  • It comforts you when you’re down.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)

3. WHAT ANCHOR HABIT WILL YOU CHOOSE?

“Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.”

Proverbs 4:26 (NIV)
