Part 3: Spiritual Friendship
PRACTICING THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
PART 3
Galatians 5:26-6:5
“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” Proverbs 27:17 (NLT)
1. A FRIEND IS SOMEONE WHO IS ALWAYS THERE FOR YOU.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 (NIV)
“There are ‘friends’ who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24 (NLT)
2. A FRIEND IS SOMEONE WHO YOU ARE TRANSPARENT WITH.
“Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:1-2 (NIV)
Restore gently.
“Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.” Galatians 5:26 (NIV)
“If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else.” Galatians 6:3-4 (NIV)
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 (NIV)
“But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)
“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from My Father I have made known to you.” John 15:15 (NIV)
